Wacky Wednesday

Some people do "wordless Wednesdays", I am doing wacky Wednesday. Basically, I thought I'd share all the wacky things I have heard the past week. Mainly, these are all things I've heard while carpooling kids back and forth to school.

1~While driving home one day, a kid who we will call Tan-man, said "oh no, my leg is asleep". That's not funny, but what came next is hilarious. Tan-man then says "Hey Diana, did you know that the first time my leg fell asleep I was scared." I then said, "It can be scary when part of your body falls asleep." He then says, "No, I was scared because I thought, oh no satan is taking over my body." This kid is 8 and said this so seriously I couldn't help laughing.

2~"My mom takes horse pills!" This was said by none other than my son Jordan. I have no idea what they were talking about, I only joined the conversation after he shouted this from the back seat and he asked me to confirm. And yes I take a horse pill, but it is also known as my vitamin.

3~While waiting in the car at the school for Fill-up who is the oldest of the kids, Super Cutie (I haven't thought of a code name for this kid, so we'll go with Super Cutie who is five,) said "Fill-up has had a lot of birthdays, I want to have a lot of birthdays like him." I said, "What do you mean?" To which Super Cutie replies "Well, he's just so tall!" I chuckled as I explained that Fill-up is 12 so he has had about 7 more birthdays than him and hopefully when he has 7 more birthdays he'll be tall like Fill-up. I can't describe how cute that whole exchange was, you probably had to be there, but Super Cutie is always saying cute things. The kid could have his own sitcom he is that adorable!

That's all I could think of off the top of my head! But I think kids say the wackiest things and I am so happy that I get to have a car full of wacky kids to chauffeur around each day!

An IMPORTANT Cause

I watched the most heart-breaking Oprah yesterday. And now I am reaching out to my millions of readers for help in this worthy cause. Okay, so maybe I have only one reader and he has already done his part - so if by chance there is another reader out there here is the deal: The number of internet pedophiles is increasing daily with their crimes becoming more brutal against children (including infants). Our law enforcement does not have the man power or financial backing to take these slimeballs down. So there is this law that is trying to come before congress but it needs the support of people. All YOU have to do is click here. It will take you to Oprah's website from there they have already scripted a letter or you can use your own, just make sure to include the bill #1738 and then click on your state senators. By doing this we have the chance to make our voices heard that we want money to go into our law enforcement groups so we can save these children from these horrific acts.

Good News Minute

I thought I'd take a minute to point out all the good things that have happened in our family in the past week. It's always good to focus on the positive, right??!!

Jordan got an "A" on his science test. The first thing we asked when we saw the score "was this an open-book test?" (I know that you're thinking we're horrible parents with so little faith, but if you only knew our battles with school work.....) To our surprise it was not open-book. It was a hard unit, with classifications and what not. SO, I review the test with Jordan to see if he really knew it, once again he blew me away with the knowledge he has soaked up. Hooray for Jordan!! He must really want to go to California next summer, little does he know we are going anyways because his cousin is getting baptized. That's our little secret for now, because we want him to continue to work hard. And apparently he needs a carrot dangling in front of him to do so.

Chloe won her soccer game. Her team is currently undefeated. And the coach is impressed with how much she has improved and even told Matt this!! Chloe's grandpa even made it to the game to cheer her on.

We found out last night that my cousin (the oldest "T" girl) and her husband are going to have a baby!! She is due in April and they are moving back in with her parents soon, while he finishes school and they can save for a house. Chloe & Jordan are happy about this because they'll be close by. We haven't seen much of them since she got married a year or so ago. We are glad they stopped by to share their news!

The best news of all, only 11 more days until we leave for St. George!!! Can't wait!

Everybody Makes Mistakes

A rare event happened in our home this past weekend. Forgive me for dwelling on this, but like I said- this is a rare event. As we sat down to watch an episode of Heroes: season 2 as a family last night we discover that Mr. Practically Perfect in Every Way had made a mistake.

As you are all aware we like to watch alot of movies. Alot of movies. As we are searching through the movies on top of the dvr, Heroes disc one was no where to be found. We did however find the disc of Purple Violets which had been returned to Blockbuster a couple days ago via Matt.

As the kids and I begin to chuckle at this discovery, Matt decided to be-little himself saying how stupid he is, etc. Don't worry, I told the kids this is his defensive tactic so that we will feel bad for laughing at him. And that we should not feel bad for laughing because people should be able to laugh at themselves after making a silly mistake. Right?

Matt came around and joined in the laughter. And even gave me permission to blog about his "rare moment of stupidty." So this is for all those people out there who are ever frustrated or annoyed with Mr. Practically Perfect in Every Way. Now you have proof that even Matt makes silly mistakes, just not very often!

I wonder how we'll get our dvd back? It was in one of the mail sleeves that we can take to the store to trade in every once in a while and the store mails it back for us. I'm hoping they will mail it to us. I guess we'll see......

Lucky Thirteen

I am the luckiest gal to have this man who adores me and loves me with every ounce of his being. Every day I am showered with love and affection. I often think to myself "How did I get so lucky to find my best friend in this life and that I get to spend eternity with this incredible man!" I love every moment we've spent together- from the laughter to the tears. And I look forward to what each new day will bring us. Thank you for being everything a girl could ask for in a soul mate. Happy Anniversary!

Laid Back Labor Day

No big exciting Labor Day for us...we just chilled around the house. We did run a few errands. Jordan finally got the haircut that he desperately needed. Matt also got his haircut. I don't have any pictures of these two handsome dudes, but I'll get some later this week.

One of our errands was to my friend's house in Herriman. I actually liked this particular neighborhood. Matt has been trying to get me to consider moving there, but I still can't imagine living in Herriman. I just can't get past the name - Herriman. It just makes me think I'd be living in a town with a "hairy" "man"! And back in the day when Herriman was first sprouting up I had a friend (not the one we stopped by today) that lived there and everytime I visited her I had to drive past the landfill and it was not pleasant. So unless Matt finds the ULTIMATE house out there, Herriman will not be on my address label.

I also watched the dvd The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning while I did some ironing. Ariel is one of my favorite Disney character and it's not the red hair factor, I just think she's spunky and cool. Matt thinks she's "bratty."

The coolest part of my day has to be when the kids chowed down their burgers only for us to then tell them that they just ate turkey burgers. Earlier, Chloe and Jordan both made fun of my turkey burger package, little did they know we were planning on cooking them for all of us. They thought it was just for me, but now they know they like turkey burgers!

I wish we could have a three day weekend every week. Thankfully, we have one at the end of September! And that one won't be laid back - we are heading to St. George and Las Vegas for some playtime!! Can't wait!
